NDOKWA YOUTHS REJECT DESOPADEC FAILURE: WE DEMAND ACCOUNTABILITY, NOT PRAISE-SINGING!

PRESS RELEASE

We, the concerned youths and stakeholders of Ndokwa Nation, condemn in the strongest terms the recent courtesy visit by a self-styled group of “Ndokwa Youth Generals” to the DESOPADEC Managing Director, Chief Festus Ochonogor, at his residence in Warri on the 4th of September, 2025.

Their mission? To sing praises and endorse failure and some crumbs (kolanut money) while Ndokwa land continues to suffer neglect, underdevelopment, and abandonment.

NDOKWA CAN NO LONGER BE FOOLED

Ndokwa is the second-largest oil and gas-producing region in Delta State, contributing massively to the state and federal economy. Yet, our communities are in darkness, our roads are death traps, our youths are jobless, and our healthcare system is nonexistent.

Instead of demanding development, these so-called “Generals” have chosen stomach infrastructure politics over the collective struggle of our people.

ASKIA BUILT ISOKO; OCHONOGOR ABANDONED NDOKWA

Under Bashorun Askia Ogieh, former DESOPADEC MD, Isoko land experienced real transformation:

Roads were constructed.

Schools and hospitals were built.

Youths were trained and empowered.

Tangible projects could be seen everywhere.

Fast-forward to today — Chief Festus Ochonogor has completely failed Ndokwa. Instead of championing Ndokwa’s development, he has:

Abandoned his office and spends more time in Asaba than in Warri.

Delegated power to an Urhobo man while oil-producing communities decay.

This is not leadership. This is betrayal.

OUR DEMANDS

1. Immediate accountability from Chief Ochonogor on all DESOPADEC allocations to Ndokwa land since assuming office.

2. A full audit of abandoned and unexecuted projects meant for Ndokwa communities.

3. Immediate resumption and completion of all abandoned projects and other infrastructure commitments.

4. An end to backdoor dealings and secret endorsements designed to silence Ndokwa’s collective voice.

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!

We are putting Chief Ochonogor and DESOPADEC on notice: Ndokwa will no longer tolerate neglect. We will resist attempts to sell our future for cheap endorsements and empty promises.

Ndokwa Nation demands equity, inclusion, and real development. Until then, no amount of photo sessions in Warri or Asaba can hide the glaring failures of DESOPADEC under its current leadership.

Ndokwa is watching. The youths are awake. The struggle continues.
