PRINCE OLATUNJI OLUSOJI FOUNDATION DONATES VEHICLES TO KOGI GOVT TO FIGHT INSECURITY

The Prince Olatunji Olusoji Foundation has donated security vehicles to the Kogi State Government to support its ongoing campaign against crime and criminality.

The founder of the foundation, Prince Olatunji Olusoji, made the donation during a visit to the Government House in Lokoja, where he reaffirmed his commitment to complementing government efforts in ensuring the safety of lives and property across the state.

Speaking during the presentation, Olusoji disclosed that the gesture was part of his foundation’s strategic intervention in enhancing security, noting that peace and stability were critical for sustainable development. “I have made arrangements to provide 21 vehicles, one each for the 21 local government areas of the state. Today, I am presenting seven Sienna vehicles to His Excellency for immediate deployment to seven local government areas. The remaining 14 vehicles will follow subsequently,” he said.

The young philanthropist, who has gained recognition for his immense contributions to health, education, and human capital development, explained that the foundation’s intervention in the security sector was informed by the rising challenges of crime in the state and the need for collective action to address them.

Before making the presentation, Olusoji visited key security agencies in the state earlier, including the Department of State Services (DSS) headquarters, the 12 Brigade of the Nigerian Army in Lokoja, the Kogi State Police Command, and the Kogi State Investment House, to discuss collaborative approaches to tackling insecurity.

Governor Usman Ododo, who received the vehicles, expressed gratitude to Prince Olusoji for what he described as a timely and commendable initiative. The governor, while assuring residents of his administration’s resolve to rid the state of criminal elements, stressed that security remained a top priority for his government. “We appreciate this noble gesture from Prince Olusoji. It demonstrates that security is a collective responsibility. My administration will continue to work with well-meaning individuals and organizations to make Kogi a safe haven for all,” he stated.

Olusoji had earlier paid a condolence visit to Governor Ododo following the demise of his father, Alhaji Ahmed Momoh Sani Ododo, who passed away at the age of 83. During the visit, the philanthropist commiserated with the governor and assured him of continuous support for initiatives that would foster peace and unity in the state.

Beyond security, the Prince Olatunji Olusoji Foundation has consistently championed projects aimed at improving lives in health, education, and economic empowerment. Over the years, the foundation has sponsored medical outreach, provided scholarships, and empowered youths, women, and men across various sectors.

Security analysts in the state have described the latest intervention as a welcome development that could enhance mobility and operational efficiency for security agencies in combating crime.

Residents and stakeholders have also lauded the gesture, noting that such private sector and individual support is vital in complementing government efforts, especially at a time when security challenges require a multi-stakeholder approach.

Prince Olusoji reaffirmed his commitment to expanding the foundation’s footprint in areas that directly impact the lives of citizens. “We want to create an environment where people can sleep with both eyes closed, go about their businesses without fear, and contribute to the growth of our state,” he said.

With the latest donation, the Prince Olusoji foundation has set a precedent for meaningful partnership between the government and the private sector in building a safer, and more prosperous Kogi State.
