PLANNED MEETING WITH DR OKOWA, MONDAY ONYEME- SENATOR NWOKO'S RECIPE FOR UNITY IN DELTA NORTH APC.

For sometime now the Senator representing the Delta North Senatorial district in the Senate, Prince Ned Muñir Nwoko has been troubled about the growing division in the Delta North APC.

This division was first noticed when Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, the immediate past Governor of Delta State and Sir Monday Onyeme , the present Deputy Governor of Delta State- two critical stakeholders in Delta North APC boycotted a scheduled APC stakeholders meeting which took place at Idumuje Ugboko on the 14th of June, 2025. There was no official explanation for the boycott by Dr Okowa and Sir Monday Onyeme and some other leaders acting on their behest or instructions.

The Delta North Stakeholders meeting at Idumuje Ugboko was scheduled by the Delta North APC Chairman, Ifezue Eluaka. Senator Ned Nwoko accepted to host it.

To further confirm division in the Delta North APC some stakeholders loyal to Dr Okowa and Sir Monday Onyeme organized a parallel Delta North Stakeholders APC meeting at Agbor on the 20th of July . Both Dr Okowa and the Deputy Governor attended the meeting at Agbor where they upturned some of the agreements reached at the Idumuje Ugboko stakeholders meeting.

The idea of Senator Ned Nwoko to meet with critical stakeholders in Delta North APC is pivotal to addressing this growing internal crises in Delta North APC

It is pertinent to observe that these internal divisions may not be unconnected with the politics of 2027 in the Delta North senatorial district. It is also pertinent to observe that Senator Ned Nwoko has never for once expressed an open do or die decision to go for a second Senate term in 2027. All the Senator is concerned about is to deliver on his campaign promises to his constituents and this he is pursuing with undiminished vigour .

Senator Ned Nwoko's desire for a more united Delta North APC can be subsumed under the following sub- heads:

THE CREATION OF AN ANIOMA STATE

Senator Ned Nwoko believes fervently that unity of stakeholders in Delta North is very critical to the realization of the creation of ANIOMA state which he has been championing after some earlier advocates for its creation set the ball rolling for its creation over 50 years ago .

Senator Nwoko who has been very vociferous and passionate about the creation of ANIOMA state has contended that no ANIOMA son or daughter should sit on the fence or oppose its creation since it has to do with the emancipation and collective destiny of the ANIOMA people. To assuage the feelings of some persons who may feel that he is pursuing the ANIOMA state creation for personal political gain, Senator Nwoko has publicly declared that he has no intention of becoming the first Governor of an ANIOMA state after its creation, suggesting instead of a possible Ndokwa son or daughter becoming the first Governor of an ANIOMA state.

THE 2027 DELTA NORTH SENATORIAL TICKET

Senator Ned Nwoko seems to want to meet with Dr Okowa and Sir Monday Onyeme so that the issue of who represents the Delta North Senatorial district in 2027 APC senatorial district is laid bare rather than become a subject of dispute and contention. In doing this it should be realized that there are other Political parties that may want to take advantage of the division in the Delta North APC to field strong candidates.

HOLISTIC SUPPORT FOR PRESIDENT AHMED TINUBU / SHERIFF OBOREVWORI FOR SECOND TERM

Senator Ned Nwoko, in his utterances and actions is in support of a second term for President Ahmed Tinubu and Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori. It is therefore his desire that Delta North APC should be united to achieve these two objectives for 2027. Senator Nwoko believes that a disunited district willl not augur well for a concerted effort to realize the twin objectives of returning both President Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Oborevwori for a second term come 2027

POST SCRIPT

It is not in doubt that of the three senatorial districts in Delta State, the Delta North is the least developed. It is the profound desire of Senator Ned Nwoko to reverse this trend what with the enormous human and material endowments of the district. Senator Nwoko believes that a united district is a pre- requisite for enhanced development of the district. As the Senator representing the district, Senator Ned Nwoko carries this burden with every sense of responsibility even at the cost of his political ambition.
