THE NIGERIAN POLITICIANS, TRADITIONAL RULERS, AND NIGERIAN CITIZENS SHOULD COME OUT CLEAN TO FIGHT CRUDE OIL THEFT

The aforementioned leaders have a lot role to play in stopping crude oil theft and the legislative arm of government need to do the needful by looking at means of adjudicating or implement policies that will carry most especially the traditional rulers along.

Nigeria as a nation has all it takes to protect his territorial assets. We must be deliberate to end the malfunctions bedevilling our national growth.

The worst problem in life is when you don't know your problem and the most worst problem is when you know your problem but you continue to play politics with it.

It's very unfortunate as rich as Nigeria, we are still negotiating how we can stop crude oil theft making those stealing this product both in onshore and offshore feel entitled, comfortable and more richer than we the people or Nigeria as a nation.

The problem here, we as a people and government should understand that we decide the pace and not the pace deciding for us. Like I said, we have all it takes as government to end this menace. But as a federation we must take away polished face criminals away from government who continue to take Nigeria as a business centre while pretending to be with us.

As a matter of fact, 80% of the Nigerian politicians still nurturing the infested ideology of the British Royal Niger syndrome. It pains me to my bone marrow when the Nigerian army, Navy and other paramilitary agents keep crying for lack of adequate amenities, social welfare and adequate funding to stampede crude oil theft in Nigeria.

Many of us don't know the drastic effect of crude oil theft and that really is affecting the solution to it.

As rightly stated by the most distinguished Senator Prince Ned Munir Nwoko "Crude oil theft is never national cake as believed by some unpatriotic Nigerians but a destructive ideology that stampedes the economic progression of our dear nation and promote illegalities which may drastically affect the true essence of democracy".

We must stop it with all sagacious ability to resuscitate the factual process which is tied to national growth and development.

When individuals start stealing this product (crude oil) through the aid of some unpatriotic security agents or some illegal political leaders it becomes a big dent to national progression.

If these criminals can succeed in stealing this product in larger quantities and sell to foreign buyers which most of the time these funds may be used for exchange of weapons against the Nigerian government, how much more Nigeria as a nation can't make a legal sale of 2 million barrels or 4 million barrels to purchase military hardwares that can assist in combating crude oil theft.

I will continue to use Saudi Arabia as a nation whose national assets protection is so dear to their hearts. A nation who had spent $150billion USD in half-century to protect its national assets.

The federal government, IOCs, NOCs and the Nigerian maritime industry in collaboration with the various traditional rulers must wake up. We sleep and slumber too much as a nation because some of us are benefiting from this national drawback epidemic and that's why when we wake up we always don't know what to do quick for us to get quicker solutions.

We must try as much as possible to copy progressive nations to enable us move forward as a nation.

Until we call a spade a spade to copy developed nations high-tech practices in combating crude oil theft, we shall continue to live a banana republic life.

For me, I think this shame is just too much for us as a people. We must wake up and fight against the injustices that fight against our national assets and as government we must look into the welfare of our security agents never to make them culpable on nefarious activities.

I am using this medium to appeal to our leaders to come out clean for the sake of the unborn generation.

Let's live a legacy of national interest that will blend with the upcoming leaders. If it will take us to sell our crude oil to protect our national assets by getting all the necessary gadgets to enhance the workability of our various security agents, I think is a call to action without prejudice.
