OFFICIAL STATEMENT BY NNU PG ON HIS MEETING WITH MINISTER OF POWER

GOOD NEWS…

NNU TODAY, 25TH NOV. 2025, HELD A SUCCESSFUL MEETING WITH THE HONOURABLE MINISTER OF POWER ,ON THE IPP POWER STEP DOWN IN NDOKWA NATION.

I am pleased to inform all Ndokwa sons and daughters that the NNU officially and successfully met with the Honourable Minister of Power today Tuesday 25th November, 2025.

The meeting which was facilitated by Rt. Hon. Nnamdi Ezechi and his colleague in the House, hosted the NNU Leadership, The Honourable Minister of Power, Hon. Adebayo Adelabu, Rt. Hon. Victor Nwokolo, House Committee Chairman on Power and our own son Rt. Hon. Nnamdi Ezechi, Member representing Ndokwa Federal Constituency 

The meeting resolved as follows:

1. That the IPP Step Down (Sub-station) cannot be abandoned because the FG has funded 100% of the Letter of Credit but that the project has only suffered delay due to bureaucracy, funding and the necessary approvals for other components and variations.

2. ⁠That the needed approvals will be secured on or before the end of the 1st quarter of 2026

3. ⁠The Hon. Minister at the meeting assured that the needed power for the electrification of Ndokwa Nationa will be achieved in the IPP step down under the available MWs at the IPP without recourse to the IPP Phase2 completion.

4. ⁠That strong efforts will be put in place to secure funding for the completion of the sub station of the IPP Step Down in the 2026 budget

5. ⁠That this meeting will be reconvened before the end of the 1st quarter of 2026 to review status and to determine when contractor will return to site.
