NDA AMENDMENT BILL: SENATOR NED NWOKO BRINGS DELTA NORTH TO NATIONAL RECKONING

Senator Ned Nwoko has continued to raise the bar of representation in Delta North Senatorial District through his display of focused advocacy and proper prioritization.

While not enough can be said about his painstaking approach to the advocacy to create Anioma State, the progress being made on the subject matter is one that can't be denied by even naysayers, doubters, and second-guessers.

The recently announced public hearing for Anioma State by the Senate, scheduled for the 4th and 5th of July 2025 at Akwa-Ibom state, has put an end to the lies and half-truths.

With progress now evident on the Anioma State creation affair, Senator Ned Nwoko has begun moves to pioneer a decentralization of the Nigerian Defence Academy, to ensure wider participation and national cohesion.

The Nigeria Defence Academy was established in 1964 and has existed with just one campus in Kaduna State, and without prejudice to the great men and women who have passed through the institution, the decentralization or establishment of a campus in Southern Nigeria is long overdue.

For decades, there have been calls for the decentralization of the NDA and the creation of a campus down south, and Senator Ned Nwoko's bill is a display of his attentiveness to national issues with sentimental angles that continue to produce positive results.

The establishment of an NDA campus in Southern Nigeria will also help to abate the disinterest of its youth population towards signing up to become military officers and offer a balance in the numerical figures of the membership of the Military, from across the 6 geopolitical zones of the nation.

In all, the greatest advantage of Senator Ned Nwoko's Nigeria Defence Academy amendment bill is that when it becomes a law, it will inspire a renewed sense of belonging within the populace, especially among the youth of the country.

For us who are constituents of Senator Ned Nwoko, we continue to bask in the glory of his performance as one of Nigeria's best senators, while we excitedly prepare to host the Southern Campus of the Nigeria Defence Academy in Delta North Senatorial District.
