A TRADITIONAL RESPONSE TO THE ASAGBA OF ASABA BY AN OKAKU OF OKO IN OSHIMILI SOUTH LGA OF DELTA STATE.

The Oko people of Oshimili South LGA are from Igala and everything they do proves the fact that they came Igala. Now that the Asagba of Asaba is saying that the Asaba people is from Igala. Two questions need to be answered by the Asagba of Asaba. Firstly, will he change the title of Asagba that he bears to an Igala tittle? The last time I checked there is no traditional title in Asaba that can be traced to Igala unlike the Oko people. The king of Oko bears the title of the Akor of Oko which is an Igala title. There is no title in Oko that the Oko people have not gone to Igala to confirm it before bestowing it on anybody.

Secondly, will the Asagba of Asaba institute the Okaku tradition in Asaba ? Am not only an Okaku in Oko, am also a double Okaku in Ochuche-Umuodu in Ogbaru LGA of Anambra state, which happens to be my maternal grandmother hometown. It is not just saying that (a community) Asaba is from Igala it is about proving it by way of tradition. This will be all for now.

For the avoidable of doubt, my name is Daniel Ogiriki, I am an Okaku of Oranyeli family of Oko-Anala.
