“UKWATA”: THE DEITY WHO TRANSCENDS BORDERS
9 October 2025
In the rich cultural tapestry of Umukwata Kingdom, there exist over 50 revered deities and more than 100 traditional titles, yet UKWATA reigns supreme above all.
He is not only honored within the boundaries of the Kingdom but is echoed, celebrated, and revered far beyond, a testament to his spiritual might and enduring influence.
Clothed in majestic royal regalia, UKWATA sits on his throne at the heart of Umukwata Kingdom, presiding over 71 traditional minor families (Nde-Ike),13 major families (Imusu),4 Traditional Quarters, and 7 Sub-Communities.
His sacred domain stretches from the Iyi-Udeh River in the South, with the Okumeshi River Deity flowing through the Kingdom’s center, serving not merely as a natural waterway but as a spiritual checkpoint that watches over daily activities.
To the North lies Onoku (Ethiope River), the lifeline from which the people draw water before setting out to their farms.
UKWATA presides over the largest kingdom in Ukwuani Local Government, and his presence commands awe.
His footsteps resound like thunder, for he is the Elephant (Enyi), a symbol of wisdom, strength, and authority.
With his mighty presence, even the Lions of the North, Tigers of the South, Hippocampus of the West, and Crocodiles of the East dare not trespass.
His words are law in the land and his words command reverence, direction, and destiny. He is more than a monarch, he is the divine architect of the modern Umukwata Kingdom.
May the Almighty continue to bless and preserve the King, today and forever.
Enyi! Enyi!! Enyi!!!
Eze-Obodo-Oma,
Yebi Nduogonogo
