SENATOR NED NWOKO AND HIS AD-HOC COMMITTEE MEMBERS STRATEGIZE MEANS TO CURB CRUDE OIL THEFT IN NIGER DELTA REGION.

Yesterday been 25th February, 2025 was a very busy day for the senate ad-hoc committee on crude oil theft being chaired by the most distinguished Senator Prince Ned Munir Nwoko who is the current chairman of the ad-hoc committee on crude oil theft with other prominent senate Ad-hoc committee members.

The holistic discussions centred on the pragmatic steps the committee should take to find adequate solutions in curbing crude oil theft and pipeline vandalism in the Niger Delta region. To fast track the process the committee invited consultants from different fields for brief interactive session to checkmate their ability and competence of delivering the best surveillance practice with 21st century modern technology that may enhance adequate solutions on crude oil theft in Niger Delta region.

Having had satisfactory discussions with the various consultants, the committee gave a vote of confidence on them at the end of the meeting and a motion was moved to engaging their expertise. 

The senate Ad-hoc committee anchored by the senate committee chairman on crude oil theft moved immediately with the consultants for proper introduction of the selected consultants to meet with the Chief of defence staff General Christopher Musa for further deliberations. 

During the brief meeting with the chief of defence staff at the defence headquarters in abuja, more solutions and collaborative ideologies were divulged by Gen. Christopher Musa who was very delighted in hosting the senate Ad-hoc committee on crude oil theft. 

He further reiterated the need for grassroot surveillance and seek for modern technology like that used by Saudi Aramco to curb the consistent crude oil theft in the Niger Delta region. He categorically emphasised the need for both the local, states and federal government to collaborate with the various armed forces to put an end to these incessant crude oil theft in the country by assuring the committee and the consultants of their full support as they embark on their intelligent surveillance investigations/reports.

The most distinguished Senator Prince Ned Munir Nwoko who is the current chairman of the senate Ad-hoc committee on crude oil theft commended the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) for profiling patriotic and professional heart to heart educated solutions to curb crude oil theft both in onshore and offshore facilities in the country. The Chief of Defence Staff also commended the Chairman, distinguished senator Prince Ned Munir Nwoko and his committee members on their patriotic efforts and determination to set Nigeria free from continuous crude oil theft and specifically applauded Senator Ned's pragmatic ideology of insisting the federal government support the mini modular refinery initiate to further engage the Niger Delta youths to convert their skills into productive and legal process for the good of our national asset.
