RE: STOP THE SYCOPHANCY – NDOKWA DESERVES BETTER
It is both unfortunate and shameful that individuals like Chuks Otutu have chosen to mortgage the collective interest of the Ndokwa people for crumbs falling from the table of political opportunists. Your recent attempt to whitewash the gross underperformance of Chief Festus Ochonogor as MD of DESOPADEC is not only ill-informed but a direct insult to the intelligence and patience of the Ndokwa nation.
Let it be clear to you, Mr. Otutu, and your fellow praise-singers — sycophancy is not a strategy for development. Naivety dressed in the garment of pseudo-defence is not patriotism. You must desist immediately from this unholy romance with mediocrity and failure. By celebrating stagnation, you send a dangerous message: that development is a taboo in Ndokwa land, and that failure deserves applause simply because one of our own is sitting in an office without delivering real impact.
What you should be doing is asking critical questions: What legacy will Festus Ochonogor leave in Ndokwa land after his tenure? What landmark projects has he influenced or initiated to change the narrative of our people? None. Yet you stand to defend him simply because you may have benefitted personally. That is cowardly, selfish, and disgraceful.
Be intelligent enough to understand the politics at play — Ndokwa's turn to produce a DESOPADEC MD may not come again for another 15–18 years, if at all. So why waste this rare opportunity on a stooge who has refused to leave any meaningful developmental signature? Why enable failure and embolden oppressors who continue to treat our region like an afterthought?
While other ethnic nationalities are using their share of DESOPADEC allocation to build roads, schools, health centres, and create jobs, we are stuck with press statements defending incompetence. Shame !
Let me also remind you that His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Delta State — a man known for capacity, performance, and integrity — is not blind to the current state of affairs. A day of reckoning is coming, and we, the Ndokwa people, will be there to present the facts of Mr. Ochonogor’s failure — with evidence.
This is not about oil production quantum — it is about accountability. If you cannot use what is due to Ndokwa wisely, how will you handle more?
So, Mr. Otutu, stop selling the dignity of Ndokwa land for political handouts. Desist from this shameless campaign of excuses. The Ndokwa nation demands development, not sentiments. We will not remain underdeveloped because you chose to be a praise singer in the presence of glaring failure.
Ishiegwali!
