NDOKWA YOUTHS COMMEND PRESIDENT TINUBU FOR APPOINTING AUSTIN AVURU TO NNPCL BOARD

The Ndokwa Progressive Youth Assembly (NPYA), a leading socio-political youth group in Ndokwa/Ukwuani nation, has expressed profound gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for appointing renowned Ndokwa technocrat, Austin Avuru, to the board of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL).

Avuru, the immediate past Managing Director of Seplat Energy, was named as a non-executive director representing the South-South region in the newly reconstituted NNPCL board. The group described the appointment as a well-deserved recognition of Avuru’s vast expertise and outstanding contributions to Nigeria’s oil and gas sector.

In a statement, the NPYA lauded President Tinubu for selecting an Ndokwa son for such a strategic role, expressing confidence that Avuru would bring his wealth of experience to bear in advancing the nation’s energy sector. The group also commended the President for acknowledging Ndokwa/Ukwuani’s peaceful disposition and significant contributions to Nigeria’s economic growth, particularly in the Niger Delta.

The statement further described the appointment as "a square peg in a square hole," urging the President to sustain the momentum in recognizing Ndokwa sons and daughters in key national positions. The group expressed optimism that more deserving individuals from the region would be given opportunities to serve in prominent roles under the current administration.

Once again, the NPYA extend congratulations to the Ndokwa nation and reaffirmed its commitment to fostering unity, peace, and development in the region and beyond.
