NDOKWA NATION DESERVES BETTER: THANK YOU FOR STANDING UP FOR WHAT IS RIGHT

Thank You for Standing Up for Ndokwa Nation

First of all, I want to sincerely thank everyone who came out for the peaceful protest in demand for what is rightfully ours, 'Electricity for Ndokwa Nation'. Your courage, unity, and peaceful conduct speak volumes. You stood not just for yourselves, but for every man, woman, and child in Ndokwa, who has lived too long in darkness.

This is not too much to ask. We are not demanding what does not belong to us. We are simply asking that the power generated in our land be stepped down and used to serve our land. Ndokwa Nation deserves light. Ndokwa Nation needs light.

This issue is not political. It is about basic human need. It is about fairness. It is about development. Power is life, and without it, our hospitals, schools, businesses, and homes suffer. For years, our people have endured this injustice, living in the shadows while light is generated just around the corner. That pain, that silence, has been broken by the powerful message you sent through this peaceful protest.

To our leaders in government, especially those from Ndokwa Nation and those with influence, the people have spoken. They have done so with respect and order. They are not fighting the government. They are appealing to their government.

That being said, one thing remains clear and firm, stepping down the Independent Power Plant (IPP) in Ndokwa Nation is non-negotiable. The people have made this decision. It is their right. If power is generated here, it should serve here. This is not too much to expect. It is fair, it is just, and it is necessary.

We are not against anyone. We are simply tired of being left behind. This is a call for inclusion. A call for attention. A call for justice. We want our children to grow up in a land where there is light. We want our businesses to thrive. We want our communities to flourish and all these depend heavily on stable electricity.

To everyone who raised their voices, whether by marching, posting online, or speaking in their communities, you have done well. History will remember you. Ndokwa Nation is proud of you.

Let us remain peaceful, but also remain firm. Let us continue to speak until something is done. Let us trust that our leaders will hear us and act swiftly, because light for Ndokwa Nation is not just a request, it is a necessity.

Once again, thank you, my people. You have shown strength, wisdom, and unity. May this be the beginning of the change we have long waited for.

Ndokwa Nation Needs Light. And the Time for Light is Now.

Dr. Gift Okwuolise.
