$396.6 MILLION DOLLARS PAYMENT TO SEN NED: Nigeria Owes Ned Nwoko, not as favour, but as justice, he earned it.
22 August 2025
I came across this laughable article and could not resist addressing it, not out of sentiment, but out of respect for facts, law, and justice.
The so-called “Breaking News” that a self-styled Whistleblower Network has rushed to court in a bid to block the lawful payment of $396.6 million to Senator Ned Nwoko and Linas International in the Paris Club dispute is not only baseless but deeply mischievous.
“Nigeria owes Ned Nwoko, not as favor, but as justice, he earned it.” – Prof. Sandra C. Duru
The truth is simple, and this attempt is nothing short of a legal circus.
Senator Ned Nwoko is not a bystander in Nigeria’s financial history. He is the lawyer who spearheaded Nigeria’s debt relief process in London, securing over $20 billion in debt forgiveness for this nation. His contracts with the Federal Government were valid, binding, and enforceable. And in law, such agreements cannot be wished away, they must be honored.
Those parading themselves as whistleblowers have no stake, no contract, and absolutely no locus standi. Their lawsuit is just a busybody litigation, hollow, frivolous, and destined to collapse under the weight of legal scrutiny.
Let the truth ring louder! Refusing to pay Ned Nwoko is not just breach of contract, it is unjust enrichment and a stain on Nigeria’s international credibility. No nation should enjoy the fruits of a lawyer’s expertise while shamelessly denying him his wages.
Ubi jus ibi remedium, where there is a right, there must be a remedy. Ned Nwoko’s fees are not politics, not charity, not speculation, they are earned compensation for professional work that saved Nigeria from economic strangulation and international financial embarrassment.
Justice is not negotiable. Nigeria must pay him. Anything less is a betrayal of law, equity, and honor.
You can network your whistleblowing and lies all you want, but without legal basis to stand on, it will never fly. Either back it up in law or back off!
