NDOKWA PROGRESSIVE YOUTH ASSEMBLY LAUDS THE APPOINTMENT OF SEN NED NWOKO AS SENATE AD HOC COMMITTEE CHAIRMAN ON TURN AROUND MAINTENANCE OF REFINERIES AND CRUDE OIL THEFT

The foremost apex body of Ndokwa youths heartily welcomes the cheering news of the recent appointment of Senator Ned Nwoko, representing Delta North Senatorial District, as the new Chairman of the Senate Ad-Hoc Committee on Turn Around Maintenance (TAM) of our refineries and on Crude oil theft. This significant appointment reflects the recognition of Senator Nwoko's relentless efforts and contributions within the current National Assembly, which have not gone unnoticed by the leadership of the Senate.

The group in an enlarged meeting in Obiaruku held on February 12th lauded the appointment and described it as a square peg in a square hole.

Senator Nwoko's new role comes at a crucial time when the nation is grappling with the challenges of oil theft and the inefficiencies in refinery operations. The Senate established this ad-hoc committee to investigate the turnaround maintenance of the country’s refineries, with a focus on reviewing contracts awarded for their rehabilitation and ensuring accountability in the management of these vital national assets.

The Ndokwa Progressive Youth Assembly believes that Senator Nwoko's leadership will bring much-needed transparency and thoroughness to the investigation, as he has previously emphasized the importance of uncovering any mismanagement of corruption in the sector. His commitment to engaging stakeholders and conducting site visits will be instrumental in making comprehensive recommendations to the Senate

Moreover, the assembly acknowledges that the senator's appointment aligns with the broader goals of promoting economic stability and safeguarding Nigeria's oil wealth, which is critical for national security and sustainable development. The committee's work is expected to address the root causes of oil theft, which has severely impacted the nation's economy and the livelihoods of oil-producing communities

In conclusion, the Ndokwa Progressive Youth Assembly expresses its full support for Senator Nwoko in his new capacity and looks forward to the positive changes that his leadership will bring to the oil sector. We are optimistic that his efforts will lead to improved refinery management and a significant reduction in crude oil theft, ultimately benefiting the entire nation.
