NDOKWA PROGRESSIVE YOUTH ASSEMBLY HAILS TINUBU'S APPOINTMENT OF BARR. EUGENE OKOLOCHA TO NLRC
The Ndokwa Progressive Youth Assembly (NPYA), a prominent socio-political youth group in the Ndokwa/Ukwuani nation, has expressed deep appreciation to President Bola Tinubu for appointing a distinguished Ndokwa legal luminary, Barr. Eugene Okolocha, as the South-South representative in the Nigerian Law Reform Commission (NLRC).
Barr. Okolocha, a seasoned constitutional lawyer and Associate Professor of Law, currently serves as the Head of the Department of Law at the University of Abuja, bringing years of expertise to the role.
In a statement, the NPYA commended President Tinubu for recognizing an Ndokwa indigene for such a pivotal position, highlighting the region's peaceful nature and its immense contributions to Nigeria's economy—particularly through its oil and gas resources in the Niger Delta.
The group described the appointment as "a perfect fit," urging the President to continue appointing more qualified Ndokwa sons and daughters to key national offices.
This marks the second federal appointment for an Ndokwa individual under President Tinubu's administration, following the appointment of Austin Avuru to the NNPCL board. Additionally, another Ndokwa son, Barr. Luke Aghanenu, was recently honored with the Order of the Niger (OON).
The NPYA noted that Ndokwa nation is witnessing unprecedented federal recognition, a stark contrast to past neglect. The group had previously expressed optimism in its congratulatory message to Austin Avuru, assuring that more deserving Ndokwa individuals would be appointed under the current administration.
Once again, the NPYA congratulates the Ndokwa nation and reaffirms its dedication to promoting unity, peace, and progress in the region and beyond.
